Event Details:
STAND UP PADDLE Charity Race: ALL PROCEEDS will go to THE KRAIG VICKERS MEMORIAL FUND and The VA Aquarium Stranding Team.
The COURSE will be SURF/SLALOM style:
Beach Start with multiple laps going out through the surf, negotiating buoy turns and short beach sprints between laps
-KAHUNA Long Course: 4 miles *
"RACE": $50 ($60 on race day) Prizes awarded to Top 3 (Men 14', Men 12'6" and Women 12’6”)
"RECREATION": $50 ($60 on race day) Prizes awarded to Top 3 (Men and Women under 12’6”)
-AKAHI Short Course: 2 miles*
"NOVICE": $40 ($50 on race day) Prizes awarded to Top 3 (Men's and Women's under 12'6")
NO Race Boards will be permitted in Novice Class
-KEIKI “Kid’s” Race and Beach Obstacle Course* $10
*All courses will be determined by race day conditions. In the case of extreme or dangerous weather/ocean conditions, we will move the event to SUNDAY, OCT 7TH.
Tentative Schedule of Race Day Events:
7:30-8:45 am: Registration and Check-In at Little Island Park
8:45 am: Mandatory Pre-Race Saftey Briefing
9:00 am: KAHUNA and AKAHI RACE START
11:00 am: KEIKI START12-2:00 pm: Post-Race Party and Awards at The Baja Restaurant
ALL RACERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR LEASHES!
